Wise Women of Birth Network

We aim to build community on a local level for sisters who wish to connect with each other.

About

The Wise Women of Birth Network is a platform with the aim of developing local chapters across the world to help sisters in all stages of life connect with each about choices when entering into the world of birth.

Chapter leaders are women willing to be the contact person for a regional area who have experienced, or witnessed, and are in support of, an undisturbed, autonomous, and sovereign home birth. They will have local resources and book lists and events and circles and all the things. This network brings women who are curious to learn about their birthing choices together with women who have the embodied experience of having birthed, or witnessed a birth with sovereignty and dignity on their own terms.

There is a growing social movement of women who seek an undisturbed and blissful homebirth and this phenomena has grown immensely over the past decade. These women learn from a wide arc of wise elders, authors, researchers and authentic midwives who have contributed to this knowledge over the last century.

There is also an arc of contemporary women who are visible and articulate leaders in this movement and visible through social media, books, podcasts, virtual educational workshops and programs.

The aim of the Wise Women of Birth Network is to offer a platform that is open sourced, accessible with minimal membership fees (although there will be voluntary tiers of paid membership offered to support the infrastructure of the site).

This Wise Women of Birth Network will encourage local face to face sister connection, through the in-person community of womens circles, village prenatal circles, educational programs and healing and seasonal gatherings.

One woman connected to another around all seasons of womanhood, maiden, mother, and wise elder. Sometimes it just takes a little hand holding from a sister to step into the unknown, wipe clean any fear from a lifetime of cultural programing, and reclaim the sovereignty and authority over one’s own life, own body.
